Air Conditioning Plan for Lower Building on 9/5 and 9/6 2023
Extremely warm temperatures are forecast for the early part of next week. In the best interest of students and staff, City Schools will make the following adjustments for schools without air conditioning on Tuesday, September 5 and Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
We have a learning plan to support students including those with special education or other needs, and will contact families to share details.
The following plan applies to Lower Building Schools only:
PreK - Students will engage in asynchronous learning. The district has provided families with work packets to support their learning.
Kindergarten through 1st Grade - Students will attend school in person on an early release schedule. Their learning spaces will be moved to rooms with air conditioning and City Schools will provide additional cooling support for those classrooms. Transportation and meals will be provided as usual. Early release time will be 12:45p.m.
Grades 2nd and 3rd - Students will engage in synchronous virtual (live, at home) learning. Devices will be provided to all students who are without one. In addition, teachers will review Google Classroom setup with students prior to dismissal 9/1/2023.
