Ashley Cook named new MWS Principal
On July 8, the Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners confirmed Ashley Cook as the new principal of the Mount Washington School. Principal Cook brings to MWS substantial academic and pedagogical experience as well as a valuable administrative background. She was strongly recommended to City Schools by the MWS Principal Search Panel.
Principal Cook has extensive experience working in Baltimore City Public Schools. She served as a Content Liaison in the Literacy Division of the Office of Teaching and Learning. Most recently, she served as Principal Resident at Green Street Academy. In her role at Green Street Academy, she not only capably guided a strong, innovative academic program, but also demonstrated the ability to successfully build meaningful community partnerships.
The MWS School Family Council will work with Principal Cook to schedule a meet-and-greet in the coming weeks as a formal introduction to the community. More information will be posted here as it becomes available.
The Mount Washington School is an International Baccalaureate Candidate School. Our application to be an authorized International Baccalaureate World School was submitted on October 1, 2013.
